Mary Lenahan McGinnis, 86, died Monday, April 13, 2009 in Savannah, GA.
Mrs. McGinnis was born in Savannah, GA on October 30, 1922, the daughter of the late Edward Joseph and Thelma Brannon Lenahan. Mary was a graduate of Commercial High School and later in life attended Draughon's Business School where she obtained the skills necessary to work as an Office Manager. She worked in that capacity for over thirty years in the offices of Dr. Robert Roux and Dr. Lee Young. Mary was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McGinnis was preceded in death by her husband, George Malcolm McGinnis and grandson, Edward Joseph Gleason. She is survived by her daughters, Patsy Hinely and Norma Smith, both of Savannah; grandchildren, Joseph Ernest Hinely, III of Kansas City, MO, M. Brannon Hinely, Charles Joseph Gleason, Jr. of Boca Raton, FL and C. Michael Werntz, Jr., all of Savannah; great grandchildren, Sofia Isabelle Hinely, Michael Hendrix Werntz, Hannah Lindsey Werntz and Edward Joseph Gleason; sister, Doris McCallar of Savannah; nephews, James Cecil McCallar, Esq. and John McCallar; niece, Cheryl Gothe; special friend, Charles Gleason, Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Memorial Visitation: 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family request for donations to be made to the Salvation Army, 3100 Montgomery St., Savannah, GA 31405 or Odyssey Hospice 5105 Paulsen St., Suite 225 D, Savannah, GA 31405.
